Please join us for the Future Climate Venture Studio Showcase featuring presentations from our six company founders. The event will include a Fireside Chat with UConn President Dr. Radenka Maric and State of CT Chief Innovation Officer Dan O'Keefe, followed by a networking reception with our program partners and industry leaders. Lunch and refreshments will be served.
The Studio launched earlier this year as a partnership between The University of Connecticut, CTNext, and R/GA Ventures, for innovators addressing the most important climate challenges of our time. The program provides founders with funding, mentorship, and curated programming. The companies receive technical and resource support from UConn and a combination of creative capital, financial capital, and relationship capital from R/GA Ventures. Here are the six companies creating solutions across a range of critical areas of climate tech:
- Afterlife (New York, NY): Building a network of circular mushroom farms and leveraging the power of mycelium to decompose food waste to create fresh, local, and sustainable mushrooms and biochar for everyone.
- Eli (Sacramento, CA): Empowering contractors to make electrification more affordable, for everyone.
- Homeostasis (Tacoma, WA): Removing CO2 from the atmosphere and transforming it into carbon materials critical for batteries.
- Monterra (San Francisco, CA): Helping EV charging installers design, quote, and propose projects in minutes, not days.
- Raincoat (San Juan, PR): Providing instant-paying climate insurance at scale.
- Ric (New York, NY): Supporting resiliency post catastrophe for individuals and communities.
The Studio is a partnership between UConn, a national and global leader in interdisciplinary climate research; R/GA Ventures, a leading venture studio operator and early-stage investor; and CTNext, a state agency dedicated to public-private partnership to catalyze Connecticut’s innovation ecosystem.
